Is Trump really concerned about Jews and anti-Semitism?  Not by a long shot.  He is just as anti-Semitic as many other conservatives.  President Trump offered praise to a white-supremacist rally that included chants of “Jews will not replace us,” publicly dined with Holocaust deniers, made common cause with Germany’s Nazi-descendant AfD party and invoked tropes about wealthy Jews.  His and VP Vance's attack on universities has nothing to do with quelling anti-Semitism, but corralling what they see as overly liberal institutions. It is true that many conservatives that are well educated are right-wing ideologues, but most do it for the money.  Most educated individuals are "liberal" and moderate simply because with knowledge generally brings an ability to see many facets of life and that life is not black and white as many contemporary evangelical Christians see life, but a constantly evolving gray area that requires just as evolving perception.  I do sometimes envy conservative Christians.  Life is either this or that.  You're either on our side, or the enemy.  Democrats are demoncrats because their pastor and their collective group says so.  And their leader Trump is imbued by God to slay the demons of society (Democrats, scientists, atheists, those that are not white, immigrants...) for the good of the country.  And if it means giving your money for that cause, you are righteous in your endeavor.  A neighbor who considers herself a "true" Christian engaged in a conversation about the election.  When I attempted to argue that what Trump and his Administration is doing to the country won't be good for her living mainly on Social Security, and her response was: "It won't really matter, because if I die, I'll go to heaven and it's a better place".  At that point a discussion based on logic ended.
