flying field. You can find hotels in this area by going to hotels.com and keying

There are plenty of places to eat on Coors Blvd heading north from these hotels.
There is a Furrs restuarant right on Iliff road next to the hotels.
Getting to the field from the hotels is a little
complicated, only because there is no way to turn back north on Coors from Iliff
road. You either have to turn south on Coors until you can make a U-turn or turn
around back north, or sneak along behind the hotels south from Iliff road until
you reach Hanover Rd, then turn east, then you can turn north on Coors at the
light. Once you are heading north on Coors, go 3.7 mi north on Coors, then turn
left on Montano Rd. Go 1.8 mi on Montano, then turn right on Unser Blvd. Go 1.1
mi north on Unser, then turn left on Molten Rock. A short 0.1 mi then turn left
on 81st heading south. The 2nd right is George Maloof Air Park, just past the
Boc Negre Horse park.
To get back to the hotels, you turn north on 81st, then
the short 0.1 mi going east on Molten Rock, then south on Unser. You have two
choices. You can stay on Unser all the way to I-40, then cross over I-40 and
take the 270 degree turn to the east to go onto eastbound I-40. Just a short bit
and the next exit will be Coors. Take that exit and stay in the right hand lane
to turn onto Iliff road immediately after the exit.
The other route is to turn left at Montano off of Unser, and head east 1.8 mi on
Montano, then turn right (south) on Coors. Stay on coors for 3.7 mi, cross past
I-40, watch the traffic merging off the interstate at Coors and I-40, and then
just past I-40 is Iliff road.
North of the field, in Rio Rancho near Intel
There are hotels on Rio Rancho Blvd SE, north of the field, near the Intel
plant. These hotels are probably more like 20 to 30 minutes from the field,
depending on traffic. You can find hotels in this area by going to hotels.com
and keying into the search bar 'Rio Rancho, NM'
-
Extended Stay Hotel 2221 Rio Rancho Blvd (Hwy. 528) Rio Rancho, NM 87124
(505) 892-7900 (REG note - I have stayed here. It has a kitchen with
dishes, etc. in each room. A bit worn and minimalistic, but ok.)

A bit more upscale
If you are in the mood for a bit more upscale hotel, there is the Embassy Suites
Albuquerque Hotel and Spa, near the intersection of I-40 and I-25. It is about
30 minutes from the field, depending on traffic. It has a restuarant, bar, spa,
and 2-room suites, including corner suites and rooms with views of the city and
the Sandia Mountains. It is pretty nice. You can find hotels in this area by
going to hotels.com and keying into the search bar 'I-40 and I-25,
Albuquerque, NM'
